As industrialization took hold of late 19th C. Sweden, there was a National movement to save and romanticize the folk culture of the provinces outside of the cities.

This colorful pitcher is from this time and depicts a lady in traditional folk costume of Dalarna, holding up her apron skirt to create an area for pouring. The charm and humor of this rare pitcher is infectious and will make you smile.
