Sophie has exhibited her work both locally and internationally. She is an Innibos National Craft Award winner for her beadwork and has created mural art designs at local centres such as KwaMhlanga Police Station, Kagiso Water Park and a restaurant in KwaMhlanga. She has travelled to Spain and Italy, where she completed commissions for mural paintings. She is also a professional performing artist. She sings and dances at major celebrations and cultural festivals with her women’s performing group uNosinki Nabomma Bemvelo. She performs regularly at cultural events and public festivals.

Sophie is an important educator in the traditional Ndebele arts. She teaches the arts of painting and beadwork as a key member of for the non-profit company, Africa meets Africa Projects (AMA).

Africa meets Africa integrates traditional arts and history with mathematics learning in rural schools throughout South Africa, in partnership with district education departments.
